Dr. Serdar Çağlayan

Serdar Çağlayan born May 1, 1961 in Erzincan graduated from Erzincan Primary School, Ankara Gaziosmanpaşa Secondary School and Ankara Science High School. After winning a scholarship he began his education in 1977 at one of the best universities in Turkey (Haceteppe University) at the medical department, having received the degree of doctor, he finished his studies. After his graduation he began working as a professor at the Department of Physiology at Hacettepe University. In 1991 he won a scholarship of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and went to Germany. He has studied and published the ‘Optodiagnostic Systems in Hemorheological Practice’ at the Laser Institute of Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. In the same period he made his research projects with taking support from TÜBİTAK (Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey) and Eczacıbaşı the Fund for Scientific Research and he published them. During this period, he graduated from Anadolu University Faculty of Business Administration and received his second bachelor’s degree. Dr. Çağlayan came back to Turkey in 1994 and founded İstanbul Dermatology Clinic. In 2002, Çağlayan achieved recognition in the world wide with the application of pubic hair transplantation area with FUE technique. Dr Çağlayan who has had thousands of patients from 36 countries. Dr. Çağlayan has performed his hair-transplantation operation with a help of his team. Dr. Çağlayan is currently working in the US Michigan clinic, there are also branches of his clinic in Kiel (Germany), in Utrecht (the Netherlands) , as well as in Istanbul - Istanbul Dermatology Clinic. Dr. Çağlayan is the member of ESHRS (European Society of Hair Restoration Surgery) as well as Turkish Medical Association and Turkish Physiology Institution provides main trainings about cosmetic, dermatology and hair transplantation in Turkey abroad. Dr. Çağlayan has published 25 publications and presented 19 articles at different conferences. Dr. Serdar Çağlayan speaks English and German, he is married and has a daughter and a son .
